Clarity over cleverness
The best solution is usually the one the next person can understand. We choose plain language, visible assumptions and structures that explain themselves.
About the company
The Buffalo Company is an independent technology services business. We build business websites and software, secure and maintain them, and manage the infrastructure they run on.
Our work has included maintaining and developing an existing insurance platform, where client records, documents, renewals and deadlines are part of the same working system. That taught us to judge technology by what it lets people do — and by whether it still works a year later.
Today we work across three connected areas: managed services, software and website development, and managed infrastructure. We build new systems, take over existing ones and stay responsible for the environments underneath them. The company is deliberately small and directly involved; the person who understands the problem stays close to the work.
That combination is intentional. A website is not separate from the server it runs on, and a business application is not separate from the maintenance it needs after launch. Working across development, ongoing management and infrastructure means fewer hand-offs, clearer responsibility and a more honest view of what a system requires.
Advice runs through that work rather than sitting beside it: digital positioning, platform selection, solution architecture and technical risk. It is part of how we scope and deliver, not a separate service division, and it is not legal advice.

02
Launch is a beginning. We design for maintenance, change and the ordinary Tuesday when the original team is not in the room.
03
The application, the website and the infrastructure are one system. We resist solving a slice of the problem in isolation and calling it complete.
04
The measure of a tool is the work it makes possible. We spend time with the people doing that work before deciding what to build or change.
